Limit the palette
More colors can preserve subtle gradients but also create isolated stitches and a larger floss bill. Start conservative, then add detail deliberately.
Inspect at stitch level
Faces, lettering, edges, and isolated pixels often need manual correction. A preview should expose those decisions before checkout.
