Cross-stitch software checklist
Do not buy a pattern maker before you see the pattern.
The right app depends on your workflow, but the decision should be based on what you can inspect, edit and export — not a screenshot of a highly simplified conversion.
- Complete preview: Can you see the actual grid, dimensions and color count before payment?
- Palette control: Can you set a maximum color count, see the palette and merge or replace colors?
- Meaningful editing: Can you correct individual stitches, text and details that are important to the image?
- Material clarity: Does it show a usable legend and explain what changes when you simplify?
- Export ownership: Are the formats, price and restore/archive terms explicit before checkout?
Choose a workflow, not an “AI” promise.
A one-click converter can be useful for ideas. A production pattern needs a way to review the result, correct its failures and keep the file you paid to create. Those are the questions worth testing with your own photo.
FlossDraft’s position: a full editable preview first, then a one-time export purchase if the draft is genuinely worth keeping. The product is in validation; no checkout is live on this site.
